“Lime Green Pup ‘Hulk’ Born to a Proud German Shepherd Parent”

As Kermit the Frog once famously said, being green isn’t a walk in the park, and the same can be said for a newly born white German shepherd pup.

Shana Stamey, a resident of Canton, North Carolina, had her white German shepherd go into labor on a Friday. She was prepared for any unexpected twists and turns. Gypsy, the dog, gave birth to eight healthy puppies in a smooth delivery. However, one of the pups caught Stamey’s attention.

When the pup was born with a bright green color, Shana was taken aback and started to panic. This was Gypsy’s first litter and the green pup’s arrival was unexpected. To ease her worries, Shana did some research and found out that the pup was healthy but had come into contact with meconium, a substance found in the amniotic sac.

Puppy’s initial poop is called meconium, which has a dense consistency and greenish-black hue. It consists of elements the puppy ingested while still inside its mother’s womb, such as intestinal cells, mucus, amniotic fluid, and bile.

While it may seem unusual for a puppy to have green fur, it is not completely unheard of and poses no harm to the animal. This occurrence is most commonly seen on dogs with lighter colored fur, similar to the situation at hand.

Luckily, the color will eventually disappear after undergoing several cleaning sessions with the help of mom. As a result, the puppy will resemble its cute siblings. According to Shana, she christened the small dog as Hulk because of its unique shade and its seemingly angry demeanor upon birth.

Irrespective of the fur color, Gypsy makes an excellent mother, and the green puppy is undeniably cute. As time passes, Shana will start searching for caring homes for all her little ones. Don’t forget to spread this heartwarming story among your loved ones!
